Pelle Vävare and Cathy Nordström combine timeless textiles with memories of salty dips and slow mornings in Torekov. The collection is created together with pattern designer Cathy Nordström, known for her colorful, playful yet timeless design language. Inspired by her childhood memories and summers in Torekov, Cathy has designed unisex bathrobes and towels in Pelle Vävare's well-known cotton quality – textiles to live with for a long time.

When I saw Cathy’s pattern, I immediately thought: this belongs with us. We share the same view on quality and long-termism.

Pelle Almqvist, founder of Pelle Vävare, was an early adopter of inviting designers with personality and a sense of craftsmanship to collaborate – something that has become an important part of our DNA. I want to carry that legacy forward.

When I look for a creative partner, it is important that the design language and philosophy naturally fit into our world.” - Lisa Basilius, CEO Pelle Vävare

To Cathy, the dressing gown is more than just a garment – it is a symbol of slow weekend mornings with coffee, rustling newspapers and time being allowed to slow down. Torekov has always had a special place in her heart. She spent her childhood summers here in her family’s house, and today she returns with her own family to their summer home in the same place.

The dressing gown has always been there: draped over the shoulders after a swim, on the bike ride down to the pier or in the queue outside the bakery, where the villagers gather – in dressing gowns that are colorful, inherited or borrowed, all with their own stories.

"When Lisa got in touch, it was an obvious yes! What a dream to combine my love of patterns with salty baths and Swedish summer memories. My grandfather's name was Pelle and my eldest son is named after him, so the name has a particularly warm ring to me. It's a nice name.

Having a hood on the bathrobes was a must – it’s always windy in Torekov, and I love pulling it over my wet hair after a swim. I’m incredibly proud of the result and the fantastic quality!” - Cathy Nordström

The collection consists of bathrobes and towels in two of Cathy's most beloved patterns: Stig – classic stripes, and Spotty – playful dots.

The collection is photographed together with Cathy and her family in Torekov – in their home and everyday life, just as they live their summer life. The design process began with how Cathy herself lives with and uses textiles in everyday life, not least in her summer home in Torekov.
