Kinondo Fabric - Raspberry

Kinondo Kwetu, the most beautiful boutique hotel on the Kenyan coast, served as inspiration for this geometric pattern. The hotel is run by the Swedish couple Ida and Philip and Cathy has had the most memorable stays in this gem. The Kenyan culture with its warm and gentle people and colorful textiles is an endless source of inspiration. Photos from her stays at Kinondo Kwetu and one of Cathy’s favorite books, African Textiles, laid the ground for the sketches which resulted in the Kinondo pattern. A simple hand drawn geometric shape, imperfect and strong in its simplicity.
