Dusty Deco x Cathy Nordström

Dusty Deco x Cathy Nordström

About a year ago I was approached by Lina Kjellvertz of Dusty Deco who asked if we, as fellow pattern lovers, should do something fun together. Naturally I jumped at the opportunity. Not only because the prospect of developing a piece of furniture was something completely new and exciting but also because Lina is one of the coolest cats out there. Apart from being a sweetheart, Lina has the best bohemian chic style and no one does leopard print like she does!

Lina and Edin founded Dusty Deco more than a decade ago, mainy focusing on sourcing unique vintage pieces all around Europe and bringing them back to their shop and warehouse in Stockholm. Safe to say that their business has grown substantially since then and today they live in a historic 18th-century Mallorquin palace in Palma’s Old Town with their children. The space is a mix of home, studio and guesthouse, well worth the visit!

This is a life I dream of living some day. Running my business from abroad, in a warmer climate in southern Europe (in my case it would be southern France ), with good food, beautiful villages, weekly markets with local produce and lots of vintage pieces… And not to mention that healthy dose of sunshine and daylight. One day when our kids have left the nest I will live this life with Erik. To be honest, I’m already spending way too much time on French real estate websites. But for now I live my dream through other creatives like the Kjellvertz!

I had long wanted to make a fully upholstered ottoman, a piece of furniture that has proven impossible to find in Scandinavia. A piece that could be used as a coffee table or bench. Lina came up with a stunning design with futuristic, cone shaped legs and I was thrilled to see the pieces come together with my fabrics. The level of detail, quality and craftsmanship is so amazing! Lina and Edin opted for our Florence fabric in Tobacco ( I believe they were drawn to the leopard print feel of it ) and our Spotty fabric in Moss; both blending in perfectly with the ever growing Dusty Deco collection. I am so happy and proud to have been a small part of this collection!

These exclusive pieces are now available in limited quantities through Dusty Deco.
