Welcome to my new website!

It’s finally here. My new website! I have been planning to invest in a new website for a long time but it wasn’t until I came in touch with the super talented and sweet Cat Byrne of Gatto Web that everything came together.

I wanted a website with a more exciting layout than I had before. I wanted it to be professional, fun, informative and personal. A space where I could write more, be more personal and share work related topics in more length.

So what is new? The biggest surprise is probably that I have decided to offer a new service - home decor! This is something I really love and spend a huge amount of time on. I would say my Instagram feed and Pinterest is a 50/50 mix of these two passions of mine. But I always felt that home decor wasn’t something I could venture into, for two reasons. Firstly because of the fact that I don’t have a formal education within interior design or home decor and secondly because I was afraid it would feel to scattered. That designing patterns and helping people decorate their homes would feel incohesive. I don’t know what made me change my mind but I realized the worst thing that can happen is that it doesn’t work out and I have to give it a shot. Also I really don’t like it when I fail to do something I truly want because of fear.

This past year I have given my business a lot of thought. What I liked about it and what I didn’t. I learned from mistakes and I’m slowly getting to a place where I feel more comfortable. Saying no to clients and projects that aren’t the right fit. Streamlining my client and project management and learning to be more efficient with the (boring) admin part of the job. I haven’t mastered that part yet but I’m on my way!

This segment of my website will be a space where I write about my business, about the creative part of my life, about exhibitions and other things that relate to my work. It will be about my work as a designer and the ups and downs I experience along the way.

So welcome to my new website, I hope you like it as much as I do!
And please wish me luck. :)
